Mom on Strike

Have you ever felt like going on strike?

Stop cleaning.

Stop doing laundry.

Stop cooking.

Stop picking up.

I don't know if everyone is in the same situation I am in but I literally do it all in this household with zero and I mean zero help from my husband.

I feel extremely unappreciated.

I think he just thinks the house cleans itself and the laundry magically appears back in dresser drawers clean.

Does he realize I spend 3 hours every day after work keeping the household maintained??

And that I bust my ass every morning to get myself and a very strong willed 3 year old out the door??

The answer is no, he doesn't.

So next week I'm not doing shit around here.

I hope he enjoys filth.

Because I've had it.

You go girl. I feel the same way. Yesterday I was working at home. While working at home I mopped the floors, cleaned the bathrooms, and straight-ed up the house. I can't remember the last time my husband did any of those things!! It annoys the crap out of me. Instead of getting mad - I just go shopping and myself myself clothes. That will teach him. ;-) Shopping is my secret revenge.

I know the feeling! I hope your cleaning strike works for you (mine never have...he only does house work when he's trying to get out of trouble for something!)

Oh Jill...good luck with the strike. I firmly believe guys just don't notice dirt...or crumbs...or clutter...or toys and clothes all over the room. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything. ;)

I'd just ask him directly to help out. You'll probably get a better response that way.

I have thought about just not doing any of his stuff-so that he can see how much he adds to the mess from you and Davis.
