What Santa Brought Us

I got a pair of awesome knit argyle Uggs in black from my husband. I'm not even sure how he knew I wanted them, but I was stoked! I have been checking these boots out for months, in fact I was at the shoe store next door to my hair salon on Monday looking at them.

Davis got tons of toys, as expected. I'm going to sift through all his stuff tomorrow and put a lot of it away for future use. My favorite gift he got was the Hokey Pokey Elmo from Aunt Jodi, it is super cool! Thanks Aunt Jodi, your the coolest!

We bought Davis a headrest DVD player for my Jeep. Yes, we are those parents now.

Lights Before Christmas at the Zoo = FAIL!!!, but he loves the Mall??

It was a great day, Davis had a nice, long 3 hour nap. He woke up in a great mood, we got him all ready, got in the car and that is where it went downhill.

Mistake #1 - Hubby decides instead of jumping on the e-way in Sylvania, 2 minutes from our house we'd jump on at Talmadge which is like 5 minutes from our house but in holiday traffic (we had to drive by the mall) it took at least 30 minutes, that is when the meltdown started

Mistake #2 - Letting Hubby feed Davis prior to leaving, he only gave him 3 oz before we left, ugh!!! I should have known to jump in the backseat as we waited through the 5th traffic light on Talmadge and just fed him some more bottle

Mistake #3 - Going to the zoo lights the week of Christmas, JESUS!!! Was the entire city of Toledo there?? YES!!! We waited about 5 minutes to pay to park

Davis started crying the second we parked the car. I got the stroller ready, Davis was all bundled up so he wasn't cold (trust me). Actually, he might have been too hot and that might be why he freaked out. The entire walk up to pay he cried, we got up to pay, he saw some twinkling lights and he stopped crying. We thought, alright we will pay the $20 and go in, he seems to be ok. We walked over the bridge and he was good, watching people, then we get across the bridge and into the zoo and it was over. He started crying like there was someone killing him. Jeff scooped him out of the stroller and held him where he proceeded to cry and carry on. I finally said, this is ridiculous, let's just leave. We put Davis back in the stroller and halfway across the bridge back to the parking lot he started laughing, doing his silly noises and carrying on like he knew we were leaving. I guess he just didn't want to be at the zoo. Whatever, we were not turning around and going back in, we got in the car, I sat in the backseat and gave him a bottle and we went back to our warm house. Davis played for 2 hours straight and was happy as a clam. Maybe we will try the lights again next year, but we will make sure and go when they open in November.

This morning we got up and went to the mall for some last minute things. Davis loves the flipping mall, I'm not really sure why but he gets super happy whenever I take him there. It was his first outing as a 1 week old newborn so maybe he remembers. Anyways, he was hilarious, he entertained everyone at every store we went to. He was laughing, making his new growling noises, helping mommy pick out a new necklace, we took him to the Disney store and he got a stuffed Nemo, stuffed Wall-E and a new celly (cell phone). He loves his phones. Here is a picture of the stinker with his Nemo.

Uh-Oh

Remember this post from August.

I bought a pair.

If you see me sporting a bunch of jelly bracelets on my arm please call the police.

Holiday-ish Happenings

Davis had his 9 month check up today, he is 18 lbs., 6 oz. and 29.25 inches long. He is in the 25th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height. Long and skinny!!

Monday my mom and I took Davis out in the snow for the first time, here is a picture of the little stinker wearing his Columbia fleece "Ohio State" bunting that I picked up at my favorite store, TJ Maxx, for $19, can't beat that! The sled is from a garage sale thanks to Grandma Connie.

I have managed to create 100 more cake balls over the last two days bringing my grand total of Christmas balls (haha, I love saying "Christmas Balls") to 200. I also made a small batch of peppermint bark because it isn't Christmas with out the balls and bark, right?

For Christmas day I am making Paula Deen's Gooey Butter Cake and her Ultimate Lady's Cheesy Mac and Cheese, both should be equally artery clogging.

9 months ago I was about 25 weeks pregnant, here is a picture of me from that time, seems like last week.

And because I haven't posted a picture of her in a while, here is my grandma Mary holding Davis. He is thinking, "Lady, what the hell is going on with your eyes" Mary loves sunning, she even sits in her foyer in the middle of winter with the door wide open catching rays complete with baby oil slathered all over herself. (Note: Davis was 2 months old here)

9 Months Old Today!!!

Wowzers!! 9 months already??? Davis is such a big boy. In his 6 month pictures he still looked like a baby and now he looks like a little man in his 9 month pictures. Davis is doing so many things now, he has been crawling and pulling up for 2 months, he is now standing without support like a champ and has even taken a few steps with no assitance (scary!). I just hope he holds off on really walking for a while, crawling is enough for now.

On Thursday Davis went with mommy and Grandma and Grandpa Jameson to the Franklin Park Mall for his first pictures with Santa, he didn't even cry, he just liked Santa's beard. I'm not sure what he told Santa he wanted for Christmas, hopefully he gets everything he wants!

We will be going to Davis' great grandma's house for Christmas Eve and Christmas day we will have my family at our house, it should be very exciting for Davis.

Here are some pictures from his big day at the mall:

9 Month Professional Pictures - Sneak Peek

We had Davis' 9 month photo shoot yesterday with our fabulous photographer Emy Zolg of JEM Photography.

Check them out HERE.

I'm ecstatic at how they turned out because Davis did not want anything to do with the pictures he was more concerned about her lights, camera, cords and anything else he could get his hands on. I spent the entire 2 hour shoot chasing him

Weekly Memo

To: Davis

From: Mommy

Oh Davis, I know you love your new scream, I'm not really sure what it is all about but you seem to enjoy it. You scream constantly, every time you stand up you scream, it must be out of pure excitement. Not to suck the fun out of the screaming, but it really hurts mommy, daddy and Maizy's ears, so try to tone it down, just a bit. I'm not asking you to stop, let's just change the pitch. OK?

Remember My Baby Food Review??

Remember I said how pricey Earth's Best was, well it is still pricey, but I bought some at Babies R'Us the other day and guess what?? Yep, Davis loves it so I've been buying it for him. Good thing BRU is having a sale, 10 for $5, which reminds me, I should go get some more but I'm being lazy today and it is really cold outside.

What Happens When Davis Does Not Want to Sleep

It is rare that Davis doesn't crash by 7 p.m. every night, so on this rare occasion last week I got a chance to tape him in his overtired glory. He stayed up until 8:30 p.m on this night, I called him my little drunk. The funniest part is the beginning when he falls.

What Has Davis Been Up To?

He turned 8 months!

He wants to watch Sex & the City, I told him he is too young

He is still crawling like no tomorrow

He pulls himself up on EVERYTHING

He finally met Stella, I think it was love at first sight, look at that adorable jean dress

We Bought a Baby Cage

Errrrr, I mean baby gate contraption thingy. Anyways, it is a big octagon and contains Davis in one spot, it is a fabulous invention, if your baby likes it. Davis sees this thing and starts crying. That was a well spent $60. So we are back to mommy chasing Davis all day, I look at it this way, I might lose some weight.

I Pretend he is Still a Newborn

I still rock Davis to sleep for his naps and at night, I know, I know, I know, I should be letting him try to fall asleep on his own and self soothe, but I'm just not ready yet. Every night I turn the TV off, turn the lights off, give him a bottle and rock him to sleep. I put my little man up on my shoulder where he rests his adorable little head, I put his favorite blanket over him, close my eyes and enjoy the fact that he is still a baby (a bigger baby, but still a baby). I give him tiny little kisses and hum him a lullaby. I know these moments will end sooner than I realize and need to take in every minute. The only time he lets me cuddle him is when he is asleep and I have to enjoy every moment of it. He rarely wants anyone holding him when he is awake, he is to busy exploring the house and being nosy. The minute I pick him up he tries to dive off my lap after something much more exciting than me, like the dog's tail, the remote, my hand weights and the occasional dog toy.

Just remember, these moments don't last forever and enjoy them all to their fullest because before you know it that little one will be off to college and you will stand their wondering where the time went.
