Obsession Monday.......errrrrr Tuesday
Mommy brain, what can I say??
Now onto Obession Monday a day late.
Now onto Obession Monday a day late.
Bugaboo introduced their latest stroller, yes folks, they have a double and it is just cool enough to make me consider another baby. See it on the left as a single with a super cool sidecar storage basket and on the right as a double. It looks amazing. My guess is this puppy will cost a lot, considering their lightweight Bee stroller costs $649, the Frog is $759, and the Cameleon is $979. I am guessing this stroller will be sold like the Baby Jogger City Select, as a single and then the seat and extras to make it a double will be well extra. Bugaboo is notorious for selling all the extras for their single strollers individually so I'm sure they will do it with the double. My prediction for the cost of the stroller as a single is $1300 and once you add on the extra seat, car seat adapter, etc.... I think it will be around $1700, maybe $1800 to make it a double. I'll be surprised if it is any cheaper. People will pay it though, Bugaboo owners love their Bugaboos and if they can afford it they will do it. Even if they cannot afford it, they will find a way. Truly I am happy they came out with this. Would I really buy it if we had a 2nd baby?? Depends on the price so the chances are 50/50. I am not a fan of side by side double strollers at all, even if it does bear the Bugaboo name. I prefer a tandem double stroller. I've been eyeballing the Baby Jogger City Select since it was released. But we are only having one kid, remember..........
It is about time I got the baby weight off. My friend Ericka swears by Winsor Pilates, so I'm giving it a shot. I've been doing it for a week now and honestly I've been sore. I've been doing this along with going to the gym almost every night after Jeff gets off work. We shall see.
My Starbucks grande size reusable cold cup. LOVE IT!!!!! Good luck finding one in a store though, they sell out quick. I snagged mine a few weeks back at the Starbucks counter in our local Kroger store. The girl told me they can't keep them in stock fast enough. Thanks for the thumbs up sign Kiko. Okay, his name isn't Kiko, but he looks like a Kiko, right??
Not my obsession, Davis' obsession. Tinkerbell and The Lost Treasure. I DVR'd this a few weeks ago for him and he loves it. We watch it every night after bathtime. He gets up on my lap and we watch this movie together, usually he falls alseep while watching.

Hoarders
I am obsessed with the show Hoarders on A&E. The season just started and it is goooooood. They show back to back episodes every Monday starting at 9 p.m.
Check this memorable character out from last week, he refers to himself as "Sir Patrick" and refers to his home as "Camelot".
Link to Sir Patrick
My favorite belonging of Sir Patrick was his pimped out vehicle, complete with this lifesize doll that rides shot gun next to him. Can you imagine pulling up next to him at a stoplight?

Obsession Monday
Every Monday I am going to post my obsessions with a little photo montage.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
I can just see these on a countertop filled with goodies, coffee, sugar, candy, tea bags maybe. They are just so cute and fun. I think I need set. They are sold on Etsy by xochicklexox. She has a lot of other cool stuff, check it out.
Bugaboo Frog Stroller, how can you not love this?? Extreme funcionality, sleek look, a stroller cannot get any better or cooler than this.
Philosophy Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash, love this stuff!! I love Philosophy products as a whole but I really love this face wash. It is gentle enough to use every day.
Teresa from Real Housewives of New Jersey. Can we all say "table flip"? How can you not love a woman who sticks a gigantic bow on the head of her 5 minute old baby girl?? I don't even think she was all the way out yet and that baby already had a leopard print dress on and a bow the size of texas on her head.
Jeff Lewis from Bravo TV's hit show Flipping Out. Too bad he is gay, he is super cute. If you don't watch this show, you need to. He is OCD with an edge.
Since I post about the damn thing all the time, here is a picture. Mmmmmmm. Love me a peppermint mocha.

Starbucks Peppermint Mocha Recipe
I loveeeeee Starbucks Peppermint Mochas, they are the perfect combination of coffee, chocolate and pepperminty goodness. I cannot afford to spend $4 a day on a grande size mocha so I bought my own supplies and have perfected the recipe, I will of course share it with you. I first purchased 2 containers of mocha powder and peppermint syrup directly from Starbucks, it cost me $23. I'm have used 1/4 of the bottle of peppermint syrup and half of one of the tins of mocha powder and it has already paid for itself. I've made probably 20 mochas out of that. The cost of 5 grande size peppermint mochas from a Starbucks shop is $20 so if you don't mind making your own, it is worth it.
On with the recipe!
12 oz hot, strong coffee (I usually just add an extra scoop when I make a pot to make it a little stronger)
4 oz hot milk of your choice (soy, skim, 1%, 2%, whole, whatever you fancy)
2 T hot water
2 T mocha powder
2 T peppermint syrup
Brew coffee, I like to make my coffee a little strong for the mocha so I throw in an extra scoop if I am making a mocha. While the coffee is brewing I put 2 T of water in a small dish and microwave it on high for about 30 seconds until it is boiling or almost boiling. Remove from microwave and add in 2 T of mocha powder, stir until mixed well, it will make a thick syrup. Heat 4 oz of milk on high in microwave for 20-30 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir in mocha powder syrup, then stir in 2 T of pepper mint syrup, last add the 12 oz of hot coffee. Since I like my mochas extra hot I will then put it all back in the microwave on high for 20-30 seconds so it is steaming. Enjoy!!!
If you want to make it an iced mocha, follow the directions above, but ahead of time make the coffee, put it in a container in the fridge so it can be very cold, I usually do this with my leftover coffee from the morning knowing I'll make myself a treat that afternoon. I also do not heat the milk up for an iced mocha. You will however have to heat up the 2 T of water and mix in the 2 T of mocha powder, in order to get the powder to mix up well it needs hot water. Serve over ice!!!
You can add whipped cream to both the hot and iced mochas, but I always get mine made with nonfat milk, no whip. Too many calories!! But if you don't care about calories go for making your mocha with whole milk and whipped cream on top, it is extra yummy with all the extra fat and calories.

No More Naps??!!??
I think Davis had decided to give up naps, which is fine by me. I have been struggling most of the summer to get him to nap anyways, he used to nap at noon every day and for the last 2 months he fights it and won't nap until 3 p.m. The last 2 weeks he has been fighting the 3 p.m. nap so for the last week I've just let him go and do what he wants, if he acts tired I put him down and if not he stays up, 5 out of the 7 days last week he did not nap at all, the days he did nap I fought to get him down as it was. I'm not going to encourage him to nap anymore. As much as I love my 2 hours of alone time in the middle of the day, I'd much rather him be up all day and go to bed between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. then take a nap and not go to bed until 10:30 p.m. When he doesn't nap he goes from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and I love it. I love that after he goes to bed at 8 p.m. I can have alone time with Jeff, I can go on a walk, I can do a workout, I can enjoy a favorite TV show without having to turn it up super loud to hear it over Davis' chattering, I can shop online (haha), I can do a lot of things actually, including going to bed before midnight. Since Davis had always gone to bed really late I'd stay up really late which if you know me, isn't me. I'm no night owl, before Davis was born I'd be in bed before 10 p.m. always. I feel so much better now that I can go to bed at 10 p.m., wake up around 7 p.m., have coffee, watch the news, etc.. All before the mini man awakes from his slumber. Hell, I might even get feisty and get up at 6 a.m. and hit the gym before he wakes up and before Jeff goes to work.

I Was 16
Really, I was 16 years old, like 3 weeks ago and now I'm 32. Where the hell does the time go?
I will never forget showing up to my freshman english class one day, this quote was written on the blackboard:
"Hold on to 16 as long as you can, changes come around real soon, make us women and men" - John "Cougar" Mellencamp
Ain't that the truth Cougs???
I remember reading that and thinking that being 18 was like soooooo old, then I turned 18 and 21 was like sooooo old, and then I turned 21 and 24 was like soooooo old, then I turned 24 and 30 seemed ancient. Well, I guess I'm past ancient to my standards. Put me in a god damn museum, I'm an ancient artifact.
I remember when I was 24 I started dating this guy, he was the age I am now, 32. I thought he was kinda oldish, a bit sugar daddyish, but he was a lot of fun and super cute and had a really cool job. It didn't last but maybe 6 months, but now that I'm the same age he was when he was dating me it seems weird that I thought he was old.
When I was 16 I was sure I'd be married by the age of 23, to my super hot husband, who was also super rich, also 23 years old, 6'7" tall and played some sort of important sport. I would have 2.5 kids by the time I was 26 years old, have a 5,000 sq. ft. home, drive a Range Rover and have a little dog that I kept in a purse. Who did I think I was going to be? Paris Hilton?? Wait, she just got arrested for cocaine possession, I don't want to be her anymore. I thought I was Jessica Simpson, she is more like me, a little D list, she had a hot husband at one time. It works. Yeah, I was gonna be her. Anyways, I'm off the subject now, I'm dreaming of D cup boobs and big hair. So, I ended up getting married when I was 29 and having my first (and only) child at 30.5 (yes, 30.5 years old, I don't want you people thinking I had to get married or anything). I like this plan better, I had so much fun in my 20s. Drinking, doing stupid shit I won't want Davis to do, like getting my nose pierced, wearing trashy clothes, going to bars Wednesday through Saturday, sleeping all day, waking up still drunk and doing it all over again. Good times.
Oh and today is my birthday, Happy Birthday to Me!!! The big 3-2!!!
