30 Day Shred - Level 2

Kicked my ass!!!!

This is a hard level, if you hate push ups you will hate this level and I hate push ups!! BUT I will suffer through it because I want my pre-pregnancy body back. I can tell a big difference in my body from the time I started the 30 Day Shred until now. I even fit in my "skinny" jeans even though I'm still about 14 lbs. away from my pre-pregnancy weight and about 22 lbs. away from my goal weight.

I Hate the Color Pink Sometimes

Especially when you wake up with 2 pink eyes. I'm 99.9% sure I have pink eye, ugh!!! I woke up this morning with that nasty sticky eye feeling, eyelashes stuck together and 2 bright red eyes. I'm not mad that I have it, I could care less, I'll just go to the doctor and get some drops. I am angry because I am positive I got it from Suzy Q at the pediatricians office last Friday. She was sitting in the well waiting room with her mom and had pink eye!! The receptionist finally told them they had to go to sick waiting, but they were there long enough to spread germs to everyone else. Did the mom not know that pink eye is highly contagious?? I just hope Davis doesn't get it from me because I cannot imagine trying to put drops in the little stinkers eyes, he is so active these days that it would be a big challenge.

Mommy Update

I thought I'd update a little bit on myself. Last week I caved and joined Weight Watchers online. The baby weight just isn't coming off, mostly because I was not eating right and I know that Weight Watchers will keep me in check. I had lost quite a bit of weight after I delivered but am embarrassed to say after I got down to 147 lbs., I managed to get back up to 154 lbs. So today I weighed myself and was 147.5 lbs.!!! I was 150 lbs. last Friday. I also started doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. I love, love, love this workout. Before I got pregnant I worked out 4-5 times a week so I am used to hard workouts and let me tell you this DVD is a must have for any new mommy or anyone who wants a fabulous 20 minute workout. I honestly thought this thing would be a joke because come on what kind of workout can you really do in 20 minutes, but Jillian Michaels is awesome, it will kick your ass.

Think I can get down to 125 lbs. by June 20?? I know that is totally unreachable, but it would be nice. I'd love to be down to 135 lbs. by then. That might be more obtainable if I keep my daily walks up with the baby.

I did take some pictures of my crap for abs that I have after having the baby, but I refuse to post them until I've got an after I lost the weight picture to compare it to.

Davis' Two Month Appointment

Davis had his 2 month appointment today. He weighs 11 lbs., 4.5 oz. and is 23 in. long. He also had 2 shots today, he will have 2 more next month as we are doing an alternate vaccine schedule. I think there are a ridiculous amount of vaccines on the schedule and they give to many at one time so we have decided to split them up and cut a few out. The first vaccine we have refused is the Hep B, which I know some people think we are crazy for doing, but we feel it is unnecessary for an infant. If Davis wants the Hep B when he is older or if we feel he needs it once he is in school we will have it administered then. Davis did cry bloody murder for about 5 minutes and then he was fine. We got home around 11:30 a.m. and he fell asleep until about 1:30 p.m., woke up, took his bottle and went back to bed. I have a feeling he will be very sleepy the rest of the day.

Davis is still sleeping through the night!!! He started when he was around 6 weeks old. It is such a great feeling to wake up every morning and not be exhausted. The nurse and doctor seemed pretty surprised he was sleeping all night. I credit it to the switch from powder formula to ready to feed.

I promise to post a 2 month picture later tonight or tomorrow.

It Might Be Safe to Say

That three people and one dog in this house are now sleeping all night long. Davis has slept through the night every night since Wednesday, each night the stretch gets longer. Wednesday he slept from about 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., Thursday he slept from 9:30 p.m. until 4 a.m., Friday he slept from 8:30 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. and last night he went to bed at 9:30 p.m. and it is now 6 a.m. and he is still totally out of it!!

Please do not let this be a fluke Davis!!!!! Mommy feels so much better and is a lot more fun when you sleep all night :o)

Davis also recognizes his mommy now, he knows my voice and knows what I look like. Every time he wakes up he smiles and laughs at me, I love it!! He will also follow me around a room when someone else is holding him, such a smart little man he is.

I am not sure what my first mother day is going to involve, but we plan on going to breakfast with the little man and then we are going to have his grandma watch him for a few hours so his mommy and daddy can spend some alone time together (aka running lots and lots errands). It is so hard to take Davis out for more than 2 hours and we have a good 4 hours of errands to take care of.

Watch out Susan Boyle and Little Ballerina Girl

I've been practicing my singing skills a lot these days. When Davis is fussy and will not go back to sleep my last resort is my rendition of The Hokey Pokey. That's right folks I dance around the house with Davis and sing The Hokey Pokey. Let me say, I'm gettin pretty good at it, so watch out, I might be the next American Idol.

If you are wondering why I sing the Hokey Pokey to him it is because it is the only kid friendly song I know all the words to. Not Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star or any of those other songs you'd sing to a baby, the good old Hokey Pokey.
