I was already in the process of dragging him out to the car following a public tantrum, so I twisted him sideways and carried him out to the car under my arm. It wasn't pretty.

Time out, for sure.Jenehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04704616563346067652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1501382527444741985.post-86088901431583591612011-11-10T12:32:49.240-05:002011-11-10T12:32:49.240-05:00Do you do time out? Just stand sort-of nearby to keep an eye on him, but don't hover. I had to do that with Sophia so many times in stores when she was in tantrum phase (age 2). One time I threw her in ToysRUs' stock room and let her cry for nearly 20 minutes. Of course, people stare like their children never threw fits. Riiiiight. Stressful.

Luckily, it's just a phase though. Until he's 3 and starts a whole new phase of independence. Fun, fun. ;)

I think you did the right thing by telling him you don't hit and leaving immediately.Sassytimeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00246581282510233020noreply@blogger.com
