Exhausted

I started my job last week.

It is only 16 hours a week.

But I am exhausted.

I suppose because I am not used to getting up early.

Davis has also decided to revert back to his old sleeping habits or should I say old not sleeping habits.

Happy Monday!

Five Random Facts Friday

1. I have been seeing a dermatologist for 20 years.  I have terrible acne if I don't keep it under control with prescription drugs.

2. I used to workout every single morning at 5:30 a.m.  In my drinking days I'd even drag my ass out of bed still half drunk to workout.  Needless to say I was in excellent shape, I wish I had that body back.  Funny, I thought my 112 lb. self was still fat...

3. I love old school 80s rap.

4. I get my eyelashes tinted every 2 months.  I have super long, thick eyelashes, but they are not as dark as I like and I hate mascara. Eyelash tinting is the way to go girls.

5. The wedding dress I bought was the "ugly" dress.  I walked into the local bridal salon (which has since closed, sniff, sniff) and saw it on the rack. I thought to myself, whoa, that is the ugliest dress ever.  Ick.  The owner of the shop told me to pick out some dresses I liked and we put them in the fitting room.  Then she said she wanted to pick out a few she thought would be great on me.  She walked in with the "ugly" dress.  I told her I wouldn't try it on.  She and my mom convinced me, it was the last one and I fell in love.  After shopping at a few other stores I couldn't get the "ugly" dress off my mind so I went back and bought it a week later.  It cost way more than I wanted to spend (like triple), but it was the dress.  It was worth every single penny.

New Job Nerves

I've been a SAHM for going on almost 4 years.

That is a long time of no schedule.

Hanging out in my PJs until whenever I want.

No routine.

Nowhere to be by a certain time.

I start my job Monday and am freaking out.

I'm going to have to be there by 8:30 a.m. every day.

Which means I'm going to have to get up early.

Shower, do my hair, makeup and dress like a normal person.

I'm going to have to get Davis up too and he is used to sleeping until he wakes up which is usually around 8 a.m. or so.

We are going to need to leave the house by 8 a.m. so I can drop him off at my moms first and then when preschool starts, take him there.

How is this going to work??

Am I making the wrong decision??

Any tips on how to make mornings go smoothly??

Maybe I'm just freaking out for no reason.

Monday Funnies: Oh Davis

Last night after his bath Davis looked at me all serious, grabbed his penis and said:

"Look mom, my balls are hanging down"

I just shook my head.

You Never Know

You never know what tomorrow will bring.

Suddenly material things don't matter anymore.

One bit of information can change life as you know it.

Bringing things into perspective.

August 2012

I have a tear in my eye when I see picture comparisons like these.

Davis is still my baby.

And always will be.

Change is Good, Right?

I posted a few weeks ago about some changes in my life.

Well, here it is.

I got a job.

I know.

You are probably shocked.

Despite what some people think I never wanted to stay at home forever.

I was considering school to become a physical therapy assistant and did get accepted into the program, however, as summer went on I just wasn't feeling it.

If I'm not feeling something 100% I'm not going to do it and I'm especially not going to spend a lot of money on something I'm not quite sure of and the school isn't cheap.

They will hold my seat up to 2 years if I change my mind.

I randomly started looking for part time administrative assistant jobs in July.

It isn't easy to find them, most are 40 hours a week and the part time ones I was finding were 30 hours a week.

I wanted something that wasn't anymore than 20 hours.

Then I found it.

I was looking about once a week at the available jobs at a local university and not really seeing much, it is a very small school.

Then one day it was there.

Administrative Assistant, 15-20 hours a week.

What???

I immediately sent my resume in.

I received a call about 2 weeks later.

I scheduled an interview, which went really well and about a week later received a call to come in a 2nd time.

I was so nervous.

I wasn't sure if it was to come in for a job offer or a 2nd interview.

It was a 2nd interview, but I also knew I had the job from the way she worded things, they were just waiting on checking the rest of my references.

Two days later I received a phone call and was offered the job.

I'll be working anywhere from 15-20 hours a week, no more than 20 hours and sometimes less than 15 hours.

It is the perfect job for a mom who wants the best of both worlds.

It also helps that Davis will be in preschool so I won't feel so bad.

On the days he is at preschool he will attend the maximum of 5 hours a day.  The preschool is only 3 hours, but they offer extended days for up to 5 hours each day.

The other two mornings I work I will drop him off at my mom's, who lives within walking distance of my job and pick him up a few hours later when I'm done.

I'm excited, nervous and excited!!!!

Five Random Facts Friday

1. I twirl the baton.  It is awesome.  I love it.  I started when I was like 8 or 9 years old and continued through HS.  Being a majorette was probably my single most favorite thing about HS, I still miss it, 15 years later.

2. It was 89 degrees on our wedding day. In October. In northwest Ohio. It made it memorable. Anytime I mention my wedding to someone that was there they always bring up about how stinkin' hot it was. I also got married in this adorable little historical chapel at a local museum. No a/c. Standing room only. It was hotter inside that chapel than it was outside.

3. I don't like fish.  I'm not really sure why, but I recall having a bad experience with a fish sandwich at McDs when I was about 3 or 4 years old.  I didn't get sick or anything, but the sandwich fell apart and I think it pissed me off.  That was the end of fish for me.  When people ask me why I don't like fish I simply tell them, because I don't eat things that swim....It leaves them wondering :o)

4. I'm a snob when it comes to where I buy our meat.  I will only buy it at a locally owned supermarket.  It is the best.  No pink slim there!!!

5. I don't drink milk.  I stopped when I was 8 years old.  My cousin told me it was cow pee and that did me in.

Chirp Chirp, Chirp Chirp

I'm at a waterpark, somewhere, enjoying a little family time.

Until we return....
